Commemorates Continuing Legacy 
of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
King Legacy Awards Breakfast and Free General Admission
to Museum Monday, January 15
CINCINNATI, OH (December 13, 2017) –The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will host the 2018 King Legacy Awards Breakfast on Monday, January 15. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and the breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. Tickets for the breakfast are $35 and seating is limited. To purchase tickets, call (513) 333-7706. RSVPs are requested by January 8, 2018. The annual breakfast and program is sponsored by Kroger, Xavier University, Western Southern Financial Group, UC Health, Union Savings Bank and Fifth Third Bank. The museum opens to the public at 11:00 a.m. with free general admission.

The 2018 King Legacy Awards Breakfast program begins at 9:00 a.m. and will honor the participants of the King Legacy Youth Leadership Program. The King Legacy Youth Program provides leadership opportunities for graduates of the Youth Docent Program and scholarship funds upon completion of the program. The keynote speaker is The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati Artistic Director of Education and Outreach, Deondra Kamau Means.

“We are honored to open our doors in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and this day of service as it represents many of the core beliefs we stand for as an institution,” says Dan Hurley, Interim President of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. “By recognizing our graduating docents and offering free admission to visitors, we hope their experience here will have a lasting impression to serve others.”

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. with free admission to the museum’s permanent exhibitions and programming. A $5.00 admission charge is required for The Rosa Parks Experience or The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection.
