Entrance

Main museum entrance is located on the first floor, facing the riverfront on East Freedom Way. Street parking and an accessible public garage is available adjacent to the museum Learn more about parking →

Wheelchairs

Limited wheelchairs are available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. These wheelchairs are available free of charge. Advance reservations are not available.

Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are available on the first, third and fourth floors of the museum.

Elevators

Elevators are available for visitors to access each floor of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Groups with Disabilities

Blind or Partially Sighted Visitors

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is in the beta test stage of a new audio guide experience. More information to come.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing Visitors

Permanent gallery videos are open captioned and temporary exhibition space audio elements are transcribed via exhibit panels or gallery guide.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Parents with Young Children

Our restrooms are equipped with changing stations and nursing is welcome at the museum. A family restroom is available on the first floor.
