National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Announces
New Board Appointment

Kala Gibson of Fifth Third Bank Joins Board of Directors
CINCINNATI, OH (March 22, 2018) – The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center has announced the appointment of Kala Gibson to its board of directors.

Kala Gibson, of Cincinnati, is senior vice president and head of Business Banking for Fifth Third Bank. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, operations, sales force and product for the line of business that serves small business clients with annual revenues up to $20 million across 1,155 banking centers and 10 states. He has over 26 years of combined experience in retail banking, community banking, small business banking, middle market, asset-based lending and credit administration. As an active member of his community, Kala has and continues to dedicate his time and expertise to a variety of causes. He serves as a board member of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History and board president for MORTAR, nonprofit that helps entrepreneurs start or expand their businesses.

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center opened in August 2004 on the banks of the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
