National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Announces
Everyday Freedom Heroes Awards Presented by Delta Air Lines
The Award recognizes individuals and organizations who strive to live up to the ideals of the Underground Railroad movement as the museum celebrates 15th year anniversary
CINCINNATI, OH. (June 27, 2019) – The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center announced “Everyday Freedom Heroes Awards Presented by Delta Air Lines”, today. The Award ceremony will be on Friday, August 23, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The award honorees are Francie Hiltz, Reverend Damon Lynch, Jr, John Pepper and Edwin Riguad.
The Everyday Freedom Hero Award recognizes individuals and organizations who strive to live up to the ideals of the Underground Railroad movement, the foremost of which is freely using one's resources in order to elevate the wellbeing of others. The award recognizes individuals who truly exemplify the best of being a free people in a free society. The Everyday Freedom Hero Award provides the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center with the opportunity to showcase stories that will inspire the next generation of freedom heroes.
