Freedom Center and Cincinnati Museum Center announce weeklong closure

Ongoing systemwide failure disrupting public operations

CINCINNATI — The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) announced they will be closed through the next week due to a systemwide failure. The Freedom Center is tentatively scheduled to reopen Wednesday, March 23 and CMC Thursday, March 24.

The Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center located at Union Terminal will also be closed to the public during this time, reopening on Thursday, March 24.

Freedom Center and CMC systems were affected by a virus over the weekend, disrupting public operations including ticketing and exhibit lighting and audiovisual systems. At this time there is no indication that personal data has been compromised. The Freedom Center and CMC are actively working with IT partners to investigate the extent of the systems failure, assess ongoing preventative and mitigation measures and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

The Freedom Center and CMC thank everyone for their continued patience and support as they work to effectively restore systems and welcome guests back into their buildings.
