With the display of incivility at the Capitol in the early part of the year, many questioned is this who we are?  Conditioned within the American social, political, and economic systems are various forms of systemic violence and disruption of democracy. We continue to live in the fog of failed reconstruction and it’s critical for us to achieve a greater authentic understanding of what America has been and what it continues to be. The social construct of race continues to be at the cornerstone of the national division and inequities.  Join us for a meaningful discussion with thought-leaders as we unpack the social realities confronting our communities.

Panelists include:

  • Felicia Bell, Director of Public Engagement, Our Shared Future: Reckoning with Our Racial Past, Smithsonian Institution
  • Christina Proenza-Coles, author of American Founders: How People of African Descent Established Freedom in the New World
  • Wendy Ellis, Assistant Professor and Director, Center for Community Resilience
  • Duane Moore, US Government and African American History Teacher in Hamilton, Ohio
