Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs and Electronic Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) are available for rental on a first-come, first-serve basis from the front desk. Wheelchairs are free to rent. ECVs are $25 to rent. ECV renters must be over 18 years old and sign the Guest Mobility Equipment Rental Agreement. A driver’s license or credit card will be held at the front desk until the wheelchair or ECV is returned. Wheelchairs and ECVs are not permitted to leave the museum.

Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are available on the first, third and fourth floors of the museum.

Elevators

Elevators are available for visitors to access each floor of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Groups with Disabilities

All groups are welcome at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center! To schedule a visit, please contact our Group Sales Coordinator at 513-333-7542 or groupsales@nurfc.org.

Blind or Partially Sighted Visitors

A braille version of our museum map is available at check in.

Deaf or Hearing Impaired Visitors

Permanent gallery videos are open captioned and temporary exhibition space audio elements are transcribed via exhibit panels or gallery guide.

Audio Tours Available

Bring your headphones and experience our new audio tours on your mobile device. Need headphones? They are available for purchase in the Freedom Store.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Parents with Young Children

Our restrooms are equipped with changing stations and nursing is welcome at the museum. A family restroom is available on the first floor.
