King Me is a traveling photo-series dedicated to the likes of Black Males. Nina Wells, known in the art world as ninamdot, is an artist and photographer. ninamdot photographs black boys/men wearing a crown. The purpose of the crown is to help the viewer and the wearer explore the importance for men of color to see their value by restoring the image of the black man. The crowning of subjects applies three elements: positive mindset, self-value and restoration. The inception of King Me started in Cincinnati, Ohio and made it’s first debut in February 2016.
