July 23 – August 31, 2025
Frankie Beverly: The Man in White is a pop-up exhibit commemorating the life and career of legendary singer, songwriter, and producer Frankie Beverly. He is best known as the frontman and founder of the funk, soul, and R&B band Maze. For concertgoers attending the annual Cincinnati Music Festival, which kicks off on Thursday, July 24, 2025, Beverly is remembered as the most repeated headliner at the festival, with his first performance in 1977 and his last in 2016. Beverly passed away on September 10, 2024. While this legendary man in white will no longer grace the stage, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, in partnership with the Cincinnati Music Festival, is honored to celebrate the legacy of a one-of-a-kind artist who has given his fans a song for days with sunshine or rain.
Be sure to stop by the pop-up exhibit, located on the 3rd floor, to learn more about Beverly’s music career and hear from Cincinnati Music Festival staff as they reflect upon their favorite Frankie Beverly memory, song, and hopes for his legacy.
