The Underground Railroad was the first national social justice movement, uniting individuals in the common cause of freedom as conductors aided freedom seekers in realizing their dreams to be free. We look to the lessons of the Underground Railroad to inspire a new generation of equity so that we move ever closer to inclusive freedom for all.
Our Be the Conductor campaign will build a museum of equity, creating new exhibits to address ongoing social justice issues and upgrading existing exhibits to better tell the stories of freedom’s heroes. Enhanced programming and digital learning opportunities will allow us to continue a dialogue of equity as issues of voting rights, systemic inequities, racial violence and human trafficking plague our communities. Endowment support will secure the future of our Freedom Center.
This is our plan to build a museum of equity. This is your opportunity to be the conductor.
Donate to our Be the Conductor campaign and invest in our vision for a museum that continues to inspire and advocate for social justice as we meet this moment of change.
Thank you for being a conductor.
