Illuminating Freedom: Candle Making Experience with Ti Marie Candle Company

11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. 

Join us this Black History Month for a hands-on candle-making experience with local business, Ti Marie Candle Company. Symbolizing the light of hope and resilience central to the story of the Underground Railroad, participants will craft their own 4 oz. candles while reflecting on the role of light as a guiding force for freedom seekers and as a beacon for social justice. This immersive activity invites guests to honor the legacy of those who fought for equality and consider how they can carry the flame of justice into the present day.

The Children's Theatre on Tour: Harriet Tubman Straight Outta’ The Underground

2:00 p.m. | Harriet Tubman Theater

The past becomes present to change the future with this one-woman interactive storytelling experience. Uncover the truth about America’s 200-year struggle with slavery when you play a part in this historic retelling. On the journey, you’ll follow Harriet Tubman, the most recognized conductor of the Underground Railroad. Nicknamed “Moses,” Harriet lived up to her name by gaining her own freedom and then traveling back and forth over a dozen times to lead 70 people to freedom.
