MLK Day 2016 Programming & Activities

SOLD OUT. 2016 King Legacy Awards Breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Grand Hall, followed by programming and performances in the Harriet Tubman Theater at 9 a.m. Tickets are $35. Call 513-333-7706 for ticket information National Underground Railroad Freedom Center opens FREE to the public, open until 5 p.m.

Martin Luther King Day March begins at 10:30 a.m. outside the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

The National Underground Railroad opens to the public at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18 with free admission to the permanent exhibitions and family programming. A $5.00 admission charge is required to view the Freedom Center’s special exhibitions, Kin Killin’ Kin, the Emancipation Proclamation and Thirteenth Amendment. 

Activities and programs are scheduled throughout the day and include:

  • “I Have A Dream…” Youth Activity
  • Cotton Gin Demonstration & Presentation
  • Justice For All Presentation
  • Celebrating The Dream Storytelling & Crafts 

Hoxworth Blood Center’s Annual MLK Day Blood Drive will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the third floor of the museum. To schedule an appointment, please call (513) 451-0910 or visit hoxworth.org/mlk.

PLEASE NOTE: We recommend leaving backpacks, large bags and large umbrellas in your car or at your hotel. To ensure the safety of the collection, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center does not permit visitors to carry bags on their backs in the exhibits.
