During the first hour Mr. Westmoreland talks with Chris DeSimio the Senior Vice President - Investments Advisory & Brokerage Services, UBS Financial Service, Inc.

Mr. DeSimio talks about the collaborative effort of the UBS Scholars program.  The program is designed to support youth to achieve economic empowerment and leadership skills.  UBS staff work directly with 100 participating students as professional mentors and coaches.

During the second hour Mr. Westmoreland and producer, Kim Manning, talk about how to prepare today’s youth for the personal responsibility attached to being educated, financially secure, and professionally successful.

Mr. Westmoreland has a two hour discussion with Charles Davis, Jr. the Youth Development Manager at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Mr. Davis references his experience as an educator and more recently working with the UBS Freedom Scholars program which is a community-based partnership between the Freedom Center and UBS Financial Services.  The program provides 100 high school students with experiences  to increasing youth leadership and economic empowerment.

Three themes frame the program modules:

• Financial Literacy with an savings/matching incentive
• Leadership Development related through the lessons of the Underground Railroad
• Mentoring
